This is a story all about how
Our life got flipped-turned upside down
and I’d like to take a minute just sit right there
I’ll tell you how we became the victims of a year of despair
It seems in Wuhan the virus was born and raised
It started slow, gathered strength in those early days
Spreading, multiplying, infecting not at all cool
And making people sick and extending its rule
Quickly it spread, this virus was up to no good
It soon travelled the world and reached our neighbourhoods
Starting with one little cough and everyone got scared
World lockdown was declared, we just weren’t prepared
We had to stay apart so that it couldn’t come near
Stay inside our houses, there was panic and fear
If anything you could say that the virus was mean
A deadly, silent killer that couldn’t be seen
We came out of our houses after seven long weeks
The economy was shot, the death toll had peaked
The future’s uncertain, it’s still everywhere
We can only agree that this virus ain’t fair!
