Remember, Remember, the 5th of November,
Of gunpowder, treason and plot;
Remember, Remember, 11 November,
Our soldiers to not be forgot;
Remember, Remember, this year’s November,
Of Covid, of lock-down and fears;
Remember, Remember, the hardship and loss,
We’ll remember November for years.
Remember, Remember, the steely resolve,
Generations before us have shown;
Remember, Remember, they pointed the way,
Today we’ve a chance of our own.
Remember, Remember, opportunity knocks,
To show courage, innovation and flare;
Remember, Remember, there are those in our land,
Who need help, who need comfort and care.
Remember, Remember, “To the breach!” once again,
Or fill the wards up with our dead;
Remember, Remember that each of us counts,
The virus cares not how it’s spread.
Remember, Remember, that winter will pass,
Spring surely will bring us relief; but
Remember, Remember, its only November
and Covid’s still here like a thief.
Remember, Remember the fight is ours all,
No matter how big or how small;
Remember, Remember, united we stand,
But divided we surely shall fall.
Remember, Remember, we’ve faced crisis before,
Our resolve is consistent and strong,
Remember, Remember, its already November,
Christmas will soon come along!
Remember, Remember, how lucky we are,
Our country looks after its own;
Remember, Remember, the millions worldwide,
In peril like we’ve never known.
Remember, Remember, there are those in our midst,
Who have stepped up and answered the call,
Remember, Remember, the doctors and nurses,
Many more, but I can’t name them all.
Remember, Remember, we all have a debt,
One that will never be fully repaid;
Remember, Remember, the fallen and maimed,
For our today, they lie in their graves.
Remember, Remember, we WILL beat this you know,
It might take some time and some pain,
Remember, Remember, despite what we’ve lost,
What, united, we all stand to gain.
