Today's poem has been adversely affected
By current circumstances
It was to be a much longer and adventurous poem
But has been edited to much less than its original vision
Not only that
but the A B A B rhyme scheme
That was to be deployed
Has now been rearranged imperceptibly
Apparently, there is nothing to be done
There are no Poetry Police
No Serious Rhyme Squad
Who can take this matter up
It would seem that poetic licence has been revoked
And instead, there is this
Where whatever ending or punchline was in mind
has been withdrawn, prematurely
